cash from customers or employees in payment for goods or services by performing
the following duties. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned. Computes or recomputed
bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due. Makes change, cashes
checks, and issues receipts or tickets to customers. Records amounts
received and prepare reports of transactions. Reads and records
totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand. Quotes price and
describe features of items for which money is received. Gives cash refunds or
issues credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise. Operates cash register
by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, compile
printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, tax, and rebates on monitor
screen. When slow; you are
expected to face, starting with the soda and continuing across the store.
Maintain a clean work
environment. You are expected to
clean your station before you leave. You will call for a
sacker in a timely manner. YOU WILL NOT ASK
“DO YOU NEED HELP OUT WITH THAT”…. you will call a sacker up front and let
the customer tell you if they do not need help Competencies

Experience
Less than high school
education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Language Skills
Ability to read and
comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group
situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills
Ability to add,
subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals. Ability
to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common
sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
