Haddad’s West Peoria Market is one of the last family owned grocery stores in the Peoria area.
In 1919 Haddad’s Market opened its first store on the south side of Peoria. In the years that followed Haddad’s grew and opened a new store on the East Bluff of Peoria. In 1964 Haddad’s opened a second store in West Peoria. A fire in 1977 closed the East Bluff store for good. In 1981 Haddad’s opened its doors at its current location in West Peoria. On New Year’s Eve 2010, a fire started at Haddad’s West Peoria Market. Even though a valiant effort was made by the West Peoria Fire Department and several other departments that came out as mutual aid, there was no stopping the blaze. The store was rebuilt from the ground up and reopened in November 2011.
